  5. The Central Stores module provides for the distribution of goods from a
  6. central warehouse to departments within the institution.  The system files
  7. (budget balances, available stock, etc.) are updated in a real time mode.
  8. Tracking of purchase history to allow for alternate supply sources is
  9. automatically supported.  Stock quantities on-order are updated automatically
  10. from purchasing while quantities on-hand are updated by the receiving
  11. function.  The system's low stock report monitors stock levels.  Backorder
  12. requirements are automatically identified.  Markup may be added to the cost of
  13. goods to recover handling and overhead costs associated with the warehouse
  14. function.  Alternatively, invoices through Accounts Receivable may be
  15. generated for items issued to entities outside of the college.
